The Power Plant’s Start-Up Challenge: A waste-to-energy plant required a thorough cleaning of its new steam line using demineralised water prior to its initial start-up. While the on-site storage capacity for demineralised water was 150 m3, the amount needed for cleaning was 250 m3. And the plant was under a very tight deadline for completing the commissioning.
The Baker Solution: The plant called Baker in the early evening and requested four Baker tanks and hoses delivered as soon as possible. Baker delivered all of the needed equipment within a few hours of the call.
The Baker rapid response team enabled the plant to keep to its start-up schedule while eliminating the prospect of running dry during the critical cleaning process.
