During the planned maintenance of a transformer at a power plant, a temporary solution was required to contain and treat transformer oil. The maintenance and treatment of the oil needed to be executed simultaneously.
BakerCorp engineered an integrated solution to contain, transfer and treat the transformer oil:
- A Double Wall 30 m³ Lined Tank was used to store the oil.
- An Air Operated Diaphragm Pump (AOD) was installed to transfer the oil from the transformer into the storage tank and back again. For recirculation and treatment of the oil, a second AOD was integrated within the design.
- As the oil from transformers is usually contaminated with small solids, a Bag Filter System was also used during the removal, recirculation and refilling of the oil to filter out these particles.
Thanks to BakerCorp's solution, the oil could be stored in a safe and environmentally responsible way due to the tank’s double-wall feature.
As our solution provided containment, transfer and treatment of the oil, the customer could rely entirely on a single-source partner.
The lifetime of the oil was extended by the removal of the contaminants, resulting in considerable cost savings for the customer.

BOILER: STORAGE & TREATMENT OF FLUSHING WATER
A power plant was planning a turnaround to inspect and clean one of their boiler systems. The cleaning operation for the boiler included flushing the lines using water at a high pressure flow rate
