A Petrochemical site faced repeated clogging events within a dosing unit required for the treatment of water released from a vapour treatment process. These events were caused by a high concentration of suspended solids coming from an existing storage tank. The customer initially requested a temporary by-pass of the old tank so they could clean, inspect and repair it. The customer challenge required a solution consisting of: an alternative method of unloading and storing the chemical, transfer and dosing to enable the continuation of the customer process. This enabled the gradual emptying of the existing tank and the improvement of the quality of the chemical for reuse
Bakercorp supplied an integrated treatment solution to by-pass the old tank and transfer clean Hydrochloric Acid to the reagent dosing unit.
1. Chemicals were transferred by Air Operated Pumps through a Dual Bag Filter System to a temporary storage vessel
2. The temporary containment was provided by a Double Wall Poly Tank equipped with a Gas Scrubber to safely treat the acid vapours before release
3. The storage tanks were constantly filtered by recirculation to provide clean HACI at any time
Thanks to the BakerCorp integrated solution the customer didn’t face downtime in their process, avoided high disposal costs of the off spec chemical, was able to operate the system manually, recirculate over the filter system if quality standards of new deliveries weren’t met and was able to perform the required maintenance in a safe manner.
